BlumenRiviera discovers Bavaria - Day trip Neuschwanstein Castle

Ohhh! Ahhhh! Uhhhh! - BlumenRiviera in the footsteps of Ludwig II

After a busy week of work, some members of the BlumenRiviera team started a daytrip to the Neuschwantstein Castle . With two cars we drove to the direction of Bavarian Alps situated nearby the Neuschwantstein Castle.
Grey skies and the rain didn’t dampen our spirits. With music that we usually listen in the office and admiring the Bavarian countryside, we were anxiously waiting to finally be able to see the so called " Disney Castle " .

After a 90 minute drive, it finally appeared up in the clouds, the Neuschwanstein castle . It was misty from the rain but as we came closer the sun broke through the clouds and shone upon this castle. This ray of sunshine lifted our spirits and we couldn’t wait what the day could bring us.

Arriving at the ticket office, a dilemma occurred. The lady who was serving us at the ticket office said we can only visit the castle in two hours. There were sudden groans of disappointment, especially from one colleague Luis, of whom we are used to hearing these statement “C’onnnn!!” (Come on!). Then, everything started spontaneously. We walked up the hill to arrive at the castle- Hohenschwangau. All of a sudden we stood still and gazed at the breathtaking view of the alps together with the Neuschwantstein Castle.  It was a hurry to take pictures- single, partner and group. Soon we were all desperately chilly to get cosy and warm so we stopped at the nearby café.  We ordered hot chocolate and crème and warmed up.

We walked on foot to the castle and reached the top to start our tour guide. We were joined by a group of chinese people who were having fun as much as us.

A stunning evening atmosphere encouraged us to take another walk to get to Marienbridge above the castle. Our efforts were rewarded with a unique view of the castle and the valley lying below.
We ended this great trip with a typical Bavarian dinner in one of Munich’s restaurants.
