BlumenRiviera conquers mountains
The season for skiing has begun and our Team is undertaking skiing the mountains near Munich.
As everyone knows, we thrive for challenges. Going up the mountain is easy - well with a cable car!
However we decided to go for the extra mile, going up the mountain with our skies.
It is a guided after work ski tour which always starts around 6 pm near Garmisch. The ski rental shop #MountainSpirit is organizing it. They provide the tour guide and also the equipment - skies, shoes, ski sticks. Since it gets dark really quickly we have a head band light so that we do not crash into a tree!
When we did our first after work ski tour this winter it was for all of the colleagues who joined the first experience. And a great one! We went up the "Hörnle", which is near Garmisch. It took us about 1:30h to get up to the hut. The atmosphere was great - we had full moon and clear sky and it was not so cold. If you also want to try it, we have one important helpful tip for you: DON't wear too warm clothes.
On the way up you will get warm, since it is pretty exhausting.
You ski up the normal slope which you will ski down later on again.
When we reached the top we enjoyed the feeling and the beautiful night view over the mountains. After this exhausting climb the greatest thing is a refreshing beverage at the hut.
Also the way down again was fantastic. We had nice powder snow.
Thus it took us not long to get down the hill.
Who thought that the day was already over with the way down the hill, was wrong.
Thank's to our colleague whose parents have an Italian restaurant in Oberau, we got the chance to eat the best dinner you could think about. A big thank you to them! They served us delicious Antipasti and a tasty homemade Italian pizza.
There is no better way to end a working day! :-)
And because we enjoyed it so much, we had not enough. That is why we went again one month later.
This time it was snowing while we were skiing up the hill "Hausberg - Drehmöser 9" (Garmisch).
The hill was a bit higher then the first time, but we made it almost in the same time. On the top there was a really cozy hut where we ate a tasty onion soup. And also the way down was an experience, which was worth it to do it again.
And for sure there will be a next time, as long as there is snow in the mountains.
